Beyond the Devices is made by a small team. Email reaches us directly, and a detailed message usually gets a detailed answer. There is no ticketing portal and no chatbot.
A contact form is not provided because no form backend exists. A working mailto: link is used instead of a form that would silently discard messages.

What is Beyond the Devices?
A two-part app that connects an Android phone to a Mac over your local network. It moves clipboard text between them, mirrors Android notifications to the Mac, exposes media controls, and hands links off from the phone to the Mac.
Which devices are supported?
Android 8.0 and later, and macOS 14 Sonoma and later. There is no Windows, Linux or iOS client — the product is intentionally two platforms.
How do I pair my devices?
Open the Mac app and start pairing: it shows a QR code containing a one-time code with an expiry. On the phone choose Pair with Mac and scan it, then approve the device on the Mac. The code cannot be reused, so if it expires, generate a new one.
Does the app run in the background?
Yes, when you enable background mode. Android runs a foreground service with a quiet status notification, and the Mac app keeps a menu bar item. Both can be turned off; the link then only lasts while the apps are open.
Why does phone-to-Mac clipboard sync sometimes need a tap?
Android only lets the app that currently has focus read the clipboard, and no app can read it continuously in the background. Copying on the phone therefore syncs when you return to the app or tap the Sync now notification. Mac-to-phone is unaffected and immediate.
The devices cannot find each other. What should I check?
Confirm both devices are on the same network and that the network is not isolating clients from each other — many guest Wi-Fi networks do. A VPN on either device can also prevent local discovery. If the network changed, use Change address in the app to re-enter the Mac's current address.
